Brown and White Butter Dish

Description

Often referred to as a French butter dish, this type of butter dish allows for one to have fresh soft butter through the year. One fills the outside dish with a little water and fills the cupped lid with the butter. When the butter lid is inverted in the water, it can be left out on the counter as the water seals the freshness of the butter. This butter dish is dishwasher safe, microwavable and oven proof. It is made from reclaimed clay – a mixture of white, speckled and speckled buff stoneware clay. It holds a half cup of butter. It is glazed white and brown on the outside, and the cup that holds the butter is glazed white.
