Sea urchin in the sea jar -SECOND

This is a second and has serious aesthetic flaws.

Being a potter can be very frustrating. Like an allegory for life, you learn to take the good with the bad. This jar turned out really well – the lid fits perfectly, the sea urchin sitting in the puddle of glass looks really good, the shells have just the right amount of brown highlighting them….but, I didn’t clean the glaze well enough on the lid so it stuck to the inside rim of the bowl, and then the lid cracked. None of these issues impact the functionality of the jar – just make the inside look messed up. The bowl is glazed a glossy sandy brown on the outside and white on the inside. The lid is glazed the same sandy brown on the bottom half of the lid. It has 21 shells around the lid, with a sea urchin shape as the knob. The sea urchin is sitting in a pool of turquoise colored glass making it look like it is sitting in water. It is about 5.5 inches wide and 4 inches tall. It holds about 20 ounces. While the bottom is microwavable, dishwasher safe, and oven proof – because of the glass on the lid, the top should not be microwaved, cooked, or washed in the dishwasher.
