Description
This is a functional stoneware jar with a decorative sculptural top decorated with lampwork glass discs of red, white and black, matching the colors of the jar itself. The discs are supported on “springs” of copper wire. The jar is about 5 inches tall and 4 inches wide. The top is another 2.5 inches, while the springs add another 3.5 inches, for a total height of 10.5 inches. It is also about 10.5 inches wide when taking into account the springs off to the side.
The jar should be hand washed. It is glazed white on the bottom and a mirror black on top with white raised discs and red centers.
It is a fun piece and could be used for whatever you would use a covered jar. This jar can be viewed and purshased from my studio Old School Clay and Ceramics studio at Prescott.
