Coppery Chip n dip or Cake Stand

Description

This hand made stoneware dish, was partially hand built, and partially made on the wheel. When I made it on the wheel, I was concerned that the bottom/top was too thin, and would warp in the kiln, so I added a thin slab of clay. The thin piece I added has a textured design rolled into the clay. The edge has a slight ruffle to it. It is glazed with a commercial copper colored glaze that accentuates the texture perfectly. If you don’t use it as a cake stand, it also doubles as a chip and dip. The chip and dip is glazed a glossy yellow sand color. The cup part of the chip and deep is fairly deep, but a small dish, more shallow, could rest inside with the dip. It is 9.5 inches across, and about 4.5 inches tall. It is dish washer safe, microwavable and oven proof if protected from thermal shock.
