Blue Textured Pitcher

Description

This stoneware pitcher is made from a slab of clay, it is rolled with a textured rolling pin that gives it the design. A glaze is then wiped over the texture, highlighting the relief. The textured part of the pitcher is then glazed with a clear glaze, while the top part is glazed with a blue glaze, that along the top edge looks almost green – but where it overlaps the clear glaze, is a true blue. The inside is glazed white. A coil is wrapped around the handle adding additional visual interest. The pitcher is 7 inches wide – from the outside edge of the handle to the tip of the spout. The cylinder itself is a little more than 3.5 inches. It is 5 inches tall. It holds about 2 cups.
