Blue and Green Doo-dad vase

Description

This stoneware vase is made from an extruded tube of clay, mounted on a thrown base, formed around a circle. It is about 14 inches tall, and 10 inches wide.  In the center of the circle is another circle, from which little blue and green glass doo-dads spring. Each doodad was made on a piece of stainless steel wire, and properly annealed. The wire was then wrapped around a paint brush, creating individual springs. The top of the vase there are a few more doodads which spring forth. It is glazed white and blue, and made from recycled clay which has a bit of a speckle to it. The vase does have a slight list, or lean, but then, don’t we all?
